Radio One has confirmed to me that 97.9 The Box KBXX morning show co-host Nnete Inyangumia is no longer with the station.
Nnete, described as the First Lady of the Madd Hatta Morning Show, has been with the station since 2001 according to her LinkedIn account.
A Radio One representative told me that the station group could not comment on her departure from KBXX.
Listeners are starting to ask questions on Facebook about Nnete's radio whereabouts. So far, she has not responded or acknowledged her status.
According to her website, Nnete is also a budding comedian, actor and entrepreneur.
I contacted Nnete, but did not hear back from her for comment.
UPDATE:
According to a tweet by @solcaritas, Nnete will head to Los Angeles to help produce and co-host the Skits and Bits show on Foxxhole. Foxxhole is actor Jamie Foxx's Sirius XM channel.

ReplyDeleteLOL, you are right!
DeleteExactly! This show sucks anyway really
DeleteI agree 100%
ReplyDeleteTotally wrong miss that womens point of view, nevertheless I will continue to listen
ReplyDeleteThe Box is a racist station anyway
ReplyDeleteHow is the show racist when a WHITE man does all the work and a BLACK man get paid more. The real questions is why did Nnete quit, leave, get fired. She should be repalced with another female theres always been a female on the morning shows going back to the 90's
ReplyDeleteNever liked Nnete anyway now can we hear TREA THE TRUTH on the radio again? And Brandy Garcia and The cracker nuts
ReplyDeleteAGREED!!!!
DeleteThey need a woman back in there, whether or not I liked Nnete or not, I would like to hear a woman because it's too many men in there.
ReplyDeleteGet a life loosers!!! Hater racists!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad she is gone!!!!
ReplyDeletePut a syndicated show on, like the Rickey Smiley show
ReplyDeleteThe Steve Harvey Morning Show
DeleteWow I thought Houston would be more supportive of the hometown station.
ReplyDeletePeople have opinions and different tastes. Why should people like somehthing just because it's in Houston, or from Houston? People care about talent and being entertained, not where you are from!
ReplyDeleteI think 97.9 the box need to get rid of "G-Man" & "Chille". This is an Afro-American listeners radio station not a Mexican radio station. If I wanted to listen to someone speaking Spanish, I would listen to a Mexican station. Mexican have enough radio stations as it is. Mexicans are taking over the U.S.A in record numbers especially in Texas. We need to keep and hire our own.
ReplyDeleteWOW!! STR8 UP RACIST!!! very sad...and I am a black man!
DeleteYea, As a morning DJ she was not funny or entertaining and read straight from blogs with the entertainment report. We just did not enjoy her especially after the Trae, Brandi & Crackernutz being fired/banned because of her.
ReplyDeleteI'm an African African female listener and i totally disagree with the G Man,, Chile comment above,, lol,,i love those guys and excuse my French but F :-) ck Nnete,, all she did was cause trouble for native Houstonians cuz she was in her damn feelings,, good riddance...
ReplyDeleteI live here in Houston and can’t stand that morning show with or without Nnete.... THANK GOD FOR IHEARTRADIO!!! POWER105.1 BREAKFAST CLUB NYC!!!! EVERY MORNING!! DJ ENVY, CHARALAMANE, and ANGELA YEE! Check it out!!! The have different celebrities in the studio every damn day!!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm just use to hearning Nnete voice in the mornings with the men. I haven't heard her voice or comments in some weeks now, so my girls and I was just wondering what happened to Nnet. Depending on the topic of the coversation, I enjoyed Nnete. It's alway good to have a woman input on the topic.
ReplyDeletesome of your comments are so ignorant. for one noone wants to hear tra tha truths nasally ass so she did us a favor. also I had no idea 97.9 was considered a black station...you ppl are so silly. you need to turn on the education/learning channel. I like all the dj' s on the box inuding nnete.
