Before Family Guy, Seth MacFarlane created its precursor called Larry & Steve (1997). You will notice the Larry and Steve characters are earlier versions of Brian the Dog and Peter Griffin.
And before Office Space, creator Mike Judge put together the animated shorts Milton (1991) featuring two characters from the film, Milton Waddams and Bill Lumbergh.
