Houston PR Day Conference Adopts New Theme: #ROI Return on Influence

A public relations Houston premier event, PR Day, with speakers who have worked on such high profile cases as celebrity cyclist Lance Armstrong’s fall
from grace and the Kuwaiti detainees in Guantanamo, will be showcased this year at a new venue, the Bayou City Event Center on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

PR Day is hosted by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Houston chapter and the public is invited including all industry groups and college students. For registration and fee information, visit www.prsahouston.org. Early Bird discounts extend through August 18.

Presenting Sponsor for the second year is Enbridge. The event is co-chaired by PRSA members Samantha Mendenhall, Account Executive at Fifth Ring, and Dena Marks, Associate Director of Anti-Defamation League of Houston. Gene Grabowski, Executive Vice President, Levick, a crisis PR specialist and former White House news reporter, will deliver the luncheon keynote address, “Communicating with a Global Platform.”

The closing keynote address, “Communicating with Grace while Going Mach 1,” will be presented by Katherine McLane, Vice President of Communications and External Affairs, LIVESTRONG Foundation. McLane, the 2013 Silver Anvil Awards PRSA Professional of the Year recipient, recently was featured on CBS Sunday Morning.
