I hear that Andy Cerota has joined the KPRC 2 news desk.
In fact, he could be at his new station as early as next week.
Cerota will be both an anchor and a reporter for the Post-Newsweek station.
At the end of May, I reported how Cerota was leaving KTRK after nearly a decade and possibly going across the street to Houston's NBC affiliate. An apparent surprise to many of my readers.

I only ever watch KTRK, so I will miss Andy...
ReplyDeleteWhat a coup for Channel 2!
ReplyDeleteAndy is an excellent addition to KPRC.
He's a nice guy. I wonder which show he will anchor.
ReplyDeleteKPRC is a downgrade
ReplyDeleteMaybe this is step #1 toward an upgrade. Step #2 being the firing of Conflenti, Freeman, Reyna, Sachse, Bauer, Jacquez and entire weekend ans sports staff.
DeleteAdd: new management! =)
DeleteNoooooooooo
ReplyDeleteBad, bad move. Ask Steve Mark or Jerome Gray what happened to them after they left 26 and 11 for channel 2....
ReplyDeleteThey're not gonna put him on one of the big shows. Bet it's 11a and/or 4p.
ReplyDeleteHe just tweeted he starts Monday.
ReplyDeleteI will miss Andy! I will never watch channel 2...
ReplyDeleteIs he replacing the morning troglodyte Conflenti?
ReplyDeleteYou are insulting cavemen by comparing them to Conflenti.
DeleteDuh duh let's go to traffic huh huh...big map!
Ktrk staff can last over 30-40 years....kprc you'll be lucky to last 3-4 years....very very few have lasted that long at ch 2...I actually feel bad for him....
ReplyDeleteG Guys I will be starting KPRC soon and your starting to scare me lol -__-
ReplyDeletewhat about a noncompete? can on-air talent cross the street that soon?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure his contract was up and wasn't getting what he wanted during negotiations so his agent started shopping him around town. Let's face it, he was never going to anchor at KTRK. Good for Cerota, great guy...but KPRC? Yikes!
DeleteWhen I watch this story about the kids calling the bus monitor names and posting to YouTube, I think about this blog. "Troglodyte Conflenti". "Mr. Ed Bomke" and so on. Now I can understand what most of the commenters here must have been like as kids, and the kind adults the kids on that bus will grow up to be. How sad.
ReplyDeleteThe children were making mean comments to an old lady. The blog posts are accurate and astute observations about unskilled hacks. Big difference.
DeleteReally? That's how you justify it in your mind? Pathetic.
Delete10:45 is as thin skinned, clueless and incapable of recognizing media talent as KPRC Mgmt.
DeleteHe can't be offended if he doesn't know what it means. Relax. Also don't throw fruit at him, he will never go away.
ReplyDeleteHe was extra pompous this morning with his yelps while off camera and his ridiculously unprofessional conduct at the blood drive. Hope I never get his blood in a transfusion - i'll likely become mouthy, obsessed with getting attention and walk around with an undeserved chip on my shoulder.
DeleteIf you're upset about anchor comments on a blog, go grow a pair.
ReplyDeleteRidiculous. Sounds like the same whining pansy who complained about guys talking about the hot women in the media.
This morning Dr Zira said the Wearher Line at Ch 2 is "seven one three, six two oh, zero two two two".
ReplyDeleteIs it a zero, like you, Dr Zira, or is it an oh? And what is up with Squeaky Freeman's voice?
And lest I forget, the quote from "I wish I was cool sucksplenty":
ReplyDelete"ya got a storm named Denny and a weatherman named Anthony".....
Ha ha ha ha ha. Boy Sucksplenty sucks...

ReplyDeleteHe's a punk, jerk and a loser. And you should change your user name to Mrs Conflenti.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bunch of assholes
