Since the ending of KIAH's old news and the debut of NewsFix, Gradney has been anchoring Houston cut-ins on Tribune's syndicated Eye Opener show. Until a few months ago, Gradney was also apart of the show which originates from KDAF 33 in Dallas.
KIAH-TV’s vice president and general manager Roger Bare told me, the station is now re-branding those Eye Opener local cut-ins.
"We're re-branding the local news segments in Eye Opener as NewsFix Morning," Bare revealed.
The award-winning Gradney is a native Houstonian who returned home in 2000 to launch the last incarnation of 39's traditional news. She started as a reporter and was eventually promoted to the solo main anchor.
Gradney started in television behind the scenes at KTRK 13. She later became a reporter/anchor at KBMT in Beaumont before returning to Houston.

No more Mia Gradney? Wow. She was purely solid for the network whether you like her or loathe her. I respect Mia for all she's done. Best of luck to her wherever she may land at next.

Suck not seeing her anymore, but I think it's best for her as she is no longer being seen by people anymore.
ReplyDeleteI was never a big fan mostly due to the fact I never watched her and because her husband sounded like an ass calling radio stations trying to tell us how hot she is. But despite that, she'd be a colossal improvement at KPRC over Freeman, Sachse, Reyna , Sargent, Zavala, and Conflenti. Hope she replaces one of those incompetent hacks.
ReplyDeleteFreeman has a nasal whine to her voice that sounds like fingers on a chalkboard. Sachse makes Kim Kardashian look classy. Reyna is dumb. Sargent can't read teleprompters. Zavala is okay. Conflenti used to be a truck driver and needs to go back to that. I watch ch11 morning show. Never seen Gradney.

ReplyDelete39s marketing campaign tried to make Mia look like a diva but she was the least diva-ish anchor on Houston TV. A very nice and caring person. A rare trait in big market television.
ReplyDeleteAnd then there were none...KIAH effectly flushed out everyone that worked to try to make their REAL news a success in one of the most hostile broadcast company environments. Look back at all the Emmy's, AP and Houston Press Club awards bestowed on the former REAL news staff then tell me who really failed.

ReplyDeleteDid you know originally Stephanie Abrams was said to be untalented...I guess all the way to the bank since she hit it big. Jennifer is very popular, she will get many nice offers to leave Houston in the future...just like Danielle Guzman.
Dude, you are scary. You can't possibly think jennifer reyna is your buddy. She is being nice to you, because she has to be. Kind of like strippers pretend to find the guys at the club interesting and good-looking. Who is stephanie abrams? Jennifer is not good, she has her job and fans because she is fake looking and that's what people like,especially unattractive men!

ReplyDeleteIt seems that no matter what the topic, Reyna's target audience of blind unemployed horn dogs end up chiming in with erroneous comments about how good she butchers the traffic and news. Then those with a good concept of skill and reality chime in with more accurate assessments of her non-skill. Does that answer your question?

ReplyDeleteJennifer and I are friends outside of these blogs and emails, I won this one. She is a smart woman and sweet person. I am also employed. I figured, based on the times of your responses, you have no life other than posting comments on blogs.
I suppose you actually thought 'Darby Douglas' was a good traffic reporter? He's now squatting somewhere on the AM radio dial doing the traffic. Yes, eye candy plays a roll in television. Darby, well only one Darby, in a purple suit is still on television.
Stephanie Abrams is one of the top weather reporters for the Weather Channel. She also co-hosts with Al Roker on the show 'Waking up wit Al'. Yep, I guess she has no talent either...all the way to her +500K salary a year.
Now if you looking for persons with little of no talent, here is a good starting list; Justin Bieber, Jay-Z and I won't even get into the acting crowd.
