Statement from Philip Bruce, KHOU 11 Executive News Director: “It’s always difficult to say goodbye to a member of the family. Sadly, that’s the chore ahead of us as our own Lucy Noland prepares to take on a great new opportunity in Los Angeles. Lucy has accepted an offer from KNBC-TV, a fine shop that I know well, where she’ll be anchoring and reporting. When she joins Channel 4 in Los Angeles in early July, Lucy will be surrounded by a top-notch newsroom and some great people."
Noland came to Houston from New York's WNYW in 2007.
According to KNBC, Noland starts July 11, so catch her in Houston while you can.
On a related note, former KPRC 2 meteorologist Byron Miranda just started at KNBC a few months ago.
KHOU stopped reporting news a year ago. I don't blame Noland for leaving.

If KPRC has really overtaken KHOU, then that oddball Reverand may be on to something about the world coming to an end in October... We'll miss you Lucy. None of the local female anchors could hold a candle to you, and you were one of the best anchors all together.

ReplyDeleteI watched channel 11 at 5pm today and the reporter was smoking a cigarette right before they went to his live shot. he was smoking on the air and someone forgot to tell him he was on live television. hysterical. mike you need to find the video and put it up. it's hilarious.

ReplyDeleteNever understoopd the appeal some have with Sachse. She looks nearly 70 and shows the wrath of all those hard miles and surgeries. The lips are worse than what Lisa Rinna's looked like at her peak of surgery. Reyna can't speak coherently and her head's the size of a monster truck tire.

ReplyDeleteSachse looks pretty good for a woman in her 40's and Reyna's head doesn't look at all big, at least to me. Although Jacquez has big giant lips. Glad no one has anything bad to say about Bomke.

ReplyDeleteI was not a fan of Ms. Noland so I will likely start watching KHOU again during weekdays. I'm all for Shern-Min Chow taking over her slot if they don't plan to pair Len Cannon with Greg Hurst for all evening newscasts.

Instead, they will sit behind their desks in the newsroom and eat Twinkies as they stare maliciously at women their husbands think about. Just continue to be 'ordinary' and behind the scenes.
